Chinese New Year
Most people celebrate New Year on the 1st of January, but Chinese people celebrate it on a different day each year. It is our tradition at Hyde Park School to celebrate it as well. This year, our Chinese families prepared a fascinating assembly which focused on when, where, how and why Chinese New Year is celebrated. Children had a chance to learn how to write using a calligraphic brush and sang a Chinese song.
We were also lucky to have a delicious Chinese banquet at lunch time during which we could practice how to hold chopsticks.
Thank you to our amazing families and we wish everyone a Happy Chinese New Year!
